More details, terms, and conditions ...

  • Sessions are conducted by Jeannine Forrest, Ph.D., R.N., a Dementia care consultant and coach to families and individuals across North America. Although Dr. Forrest serves as a volunteer Advisor to the Dementia Society of America (DSA), DSA does not endorse, or solely recommend Dr. Forrest.

  • Dr. Forrest has an established practice located in the Chicago, IL area and offers fee-for-service consulting and care planning, both in-person and by phone across the United States. Learn more about Dr. Forrest's work on her website.

  • Why “Unplugged?” Provides guidance using user-friendly language. Not afraid to discuss the difficult/painful/messy experiences that care-partners confront. It provides an opportunity for shared learning and support. Dementia Unplugged intends to help people who live with Dementia continue to lead meaningful lives through education and support of their care-partners.

  • The webcast will consist of an approximate 30-minute presentation followed by roughly 15 minutes for questions and answers (Q&A).

  • Day and times offered: First Monday of each month from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM CENTRAL TIME (11 AM - 11:45 AM EST).

  • Please note: Eastern Time is 1 hour ahead. Mountain Time is 1 hour behind, and Pacific Time is 2 hours behind.

  • Excepting for the live discussion/Q&A following the formal presentation, all slides/commentary are recorded and may be made available on this webpage, sometime after the first week of each month.

  • We use a web service called ZOOM to connect you to the session. You may join each session either by Internet webcast with PC/mobile device VoIP audio, by Internet webcast with landline/ mobile telephone, or just by telephone (no Internet connection).

  • If you join the webcast on your PC or mobile device, there are slides presented on the screen for you to follow along.

  • We suggest strongly that you download the instructions as a PDF and have them available to guide you through the process of connecting to the online session/call.

  • Your video camera will NOT be activated and no one will see you. However, your voice can be heard, only if the moderator, Dr. Forrest, opens up the call for others to participate. Always, at your option, you may MUTE your microphone. Please use the control icons within the ZOOM platform (see help for more info), or your own phone's mute button.
