In Loving Memory

Wynema (Sam) Praul

In loving memory of Wynema (Sam) Praul, 83, who passed away peacefully this Memorial Day with her family present, in Sacramento, California. Sam treasured her large and far-flung family, visiting or hosting them whenever possible. She also loved the outdoors, especially bicycling and kayaking, and she and Bill circled the country. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill of 29 years’ marriage.

Born on May 28th, 1933 in a small town in Oklahoma, the daughter of Thomas and Minnie Mitchell, she came to California with her family when she was a young girl. For a time they lived in Southern California and later moved to Northern California, where she attended Napa High School.

Sam treasured her long career working at Robert Mondavi Winery as an accounting manager. At Mondavi she found a second home working with Robert and his family, and was a lifelong exuberant advocate. To read more, please click here for the full obituary.
