Naomi Buckley


Naomi (RED) Buckley the daughter of the late Johnnie and Sallie Mitchell was born June 7, 1927 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She departed this life Sunday, January 13, 2018 in Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan.

Naomi was married to the late Howard Junior Buckley from 1948 until his death in 1974.

She leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Norma J. Stafford of Duncanville, Texas. Four sisters predeceased her, Bertha Cummings, Lizzie Pearl Hudson, Corissa Summerville and Freddie Mae Buford. Naomi moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1950 to join her sisters Lizzie and Corissa.
Naomi and Howard were the proud parents of 10 children:  John H. Mitchell, Betty J. Mitchell (deceased), Alicia L. Evans (David), Joe Junior Buckley, Cheyann Armstrong (David-deceased), Gilbert Buckley (deceased), Timothy Buckley, Alice F. Buckley, Charlie Mae Buckley and Dianne Buckley.

Naomi leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

The family of Naomi Buckley acknowledges with sincere appreciation, your understanding, your prayers and all acts of kindness shown at this time of bereavement.

Interment to be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2400 Bennett Road, Okemos, Michigan 48864.
