Madeline Welborn


Madeline B. Welborn, 78, of Bloomfield CT, passed away peacefully at her son Isaac’s home in Virginia Beach, VA on Tuesday October 24, 2017. She was born November 2, 1938 in Hartford CT., to the late Madison and Annie Mae Bolden. A graduate of Hartford Public Schools, Madeline attended Howard University, Hillyer College, American Institute of Banking and the New England School of Banking.  


Madeline was a member of Union Baptist Church who spearheaded and served on various committees. She also served in a leadership capacity in numerous fraternal organizations including Past Imperial Treasurer, Imperial Court Daughters. 
Madeline, former Vice-president of Hartford National Bank and Trust, dedicated over 33 years of service to the banking industry. 


She is survived by her children Isaac Welborn Jr. and his wife Sue of Virginia Beach; Warren Welborn and his wife Sonya of Baton Rouge LA; and Selina Welborn and her wife Bonnie of Newington CT.; her sister Annette Faulks and her husband Rick of Fayetteville NC; her brother Madison Warren Bolden Sr. and his wife Janese of South Windsor CT; and many other relatives and friends.


A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, November 4, 8:30-10:45 a.m. at Union Baptist Church, 1921 Main St., Hartford, CT. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT.  Viewing will be from 8:30-9:30 (to include service from Makalia Court #137) prior to the service.


In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Madeline Welborn's name to the Dementia Society of America.
