In Loving Memory

Louise Bassett

Louise Catherine Bassett was born on October 28, 1925 to the late William and Katie Parker in Sayreville, New Jersey. Louise was the youngest of five children: Willie Mae Parker-Washington, Lorena Parker, Evelyn Parker and Joseph Parker, who all were born in Savannah, Georgia and have predeceased her.

Louise gave her life to Christ at a young age growing up in the Congregation at First
Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, Somerset, New Jersey. She went on to graduate from New Brunswick High School, New Brunswick, New Jersey. She attended Chic School for Design and after graduating, became a Tailor for Wallach’s Men’s Clothing Store. She would also use her Tailoring and seamstress expertise to create beautiful designs for private customers.
Along the way the Lord saw fit for her to meet Robert Bassett Jr. whom she later married on June 6, 1954. Through this union were born two children, Gail Lauren Bassett-Walker and Glen Bassett.
