Joseph Galese Jr

Joseph Galese Jr. 82 of Manchester, (Renaissance), died Sunday, August 6, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Paterson, he lived for many years in Pompton Lakes before moving to Manchester 16 years ago. He was employed for 40 years as Shop Steward for the Local# 560 International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Union City. He drove for Ryder/ PIE Trucking, Parsippany during that time. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960-62.

 

He belonged to the Band at Renaissance singing and playing both the clarinet and saxophone. He also belonged to the Staten Island, Italian-American, and Bocce Clubs at Renaissance.

 

Surviving is his loving wife of 54 years, Rita (Ciardi) Galese, 2 daughters, Lisa Motisi of Montville, Karen Hinz, and her husband, Ken of Kinnelon, 2 sisters, Elaine Camut of West Chester, PA, Darlene Mariconda of Succasunna, and 3 grandchildren, Dina Marie Motisi, Katelyn and Konner Joseph Hinz. Visitation is Thursday from 4-7 pm at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester with a funeral service beginning at 6:30 pm. Cremation will be private.

 

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Joseph Galese Jr's name to the Dementia Society of America.
