Irene Pauze


Irene Pauze of Springfield, MA died Sunday evening May 27, 2018. She was born on August 21, 1931 and raised on a Vermont farm with her 11 siblings. She worked in a factory in Rutland before moving to Springfield where she worked many years at Unifirst Corporation as a laundry worker.


She met her husband Raymond in Springfield where they were married in 1957. She enjoyed many adventures with Raymond in their RV traveling around the country through Alaska and Canada. They moved to the Florida Everglades where they lived in retirement enjoying their favorite sport of fishing. They came to Springfield to finish off their retirement years.


She is survived by her husband, Raymond, her sister Marguerite Pauze, her daughter Donna Pauze, her two grandchildren Billy Pauze and his wife Kimberly and Gina Pauze, two great grandchildren, Jacob Pauze and Raelene Pauze. She sadly lost her only son William Pauze in 2017.


Her memorial service will be 3:00 PM Thursday June 7, 2018 at The Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, followed by a family gathering at her home. Please arrive at the cemetery at 2:45 PM. The Ascher-Zimmerman funeral home is assisting the family.
