In Loving Memory
Albert Carl Hillmeyer
Albert Carl Hillmeyer passed away at the age of 94 on April 16, 2018 after a long battle with dementia. He was born in Elmendorf, TX on June 30, 1923. Albert was the son of Joseph and Emma (Real) Hillmeyer. Albert had two brothers, Herman, and Louis Hillmeyer, and one sister, Cecilia (Hillmeyer) Rittman whom all have preceded him in death.
He is survived by his two beloved daughters, Connie Peirson and her husband Mack Peirson, Lisa Carpenter and her husband Craig Carpenter, along with his granddaughter, Kimberly Mitchell with whom he considered a third daughter. Kimberly was Albert’s primary caregiver for nearly three years and they shared many fun adventures together.
Albert was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a radioman in the Corps and served in the Battle of Okinawa. Immediately after the end of the war, he was assigned to China, where he established a radio station for the military.
Albert, known to his friends as Al, will be remembered as an expert fish taxidermist, well known in the Lake Conroe area for more than 40 years. Long known for his infectious grin, positive outlook on life, big personality, and colorful stories, Al considered everyone he met a friend, and he would give the shirt off his back to a stranger. Al will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
